Paychex Learning Designer in Rochester, New York

Overview

Responsible for advising, designing, and developing content for strategic learning & development programs that drive employee retention and production, is aligned with business unit metrics as well as company goals and objectives. Works as a strategic partner with internal and external business units to identify learner approaches, development deliverables, delivery methods, content design and technologies to support growth strategies. Collaborates directly with L&D partners and key stakeholders to ensure learning programs are applicable to the needs of internal/external clients. Designs and develops interactive, learner-focused training that engages, motivates, and educates learners to deliver on measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to conduct in-depth needs analysis and assessment conversations with key stakeholders to analyze training needs, identify measurable learning objectives, and determine training approach, delivery methods and performance metrics.

  • Advises on the appropriate instructional systems design (ISD) methodologies, adult learning theory, and technology to design engaging and interactive learner-focused training material that engages the modern learner.

  • Develop training experiences that optimize learning and retention by utilizing a blended learning and delivery approach (ILT, VILT, etc.). This includes facilitator guides, participant materials, integration of media elements (audio, video), simulations, gaming, infographics that adhere to defined learning plan.

  • Responsible for design deliverables and deadlines, within project work to ensure a quality product that meets the learner's needs and drives business impact.

  • Develop detailed design plans, which include key activities, timelines, and resource requirements needed to achieve objectives.

  • Is a student of their profession, participating in learning activities/research to stay current with L&D industry trends and Paychex business.

  • Create prototypes, storyboards, and design documentation that effectively communicate design approach.

  • Collaborates with internal L&D partners such as Service and Sales Learning Instructors, Project Managers, Content Curators and Technologist to validate all program materials are relevant to the business unit strategies and meet the effectiveness standards of program facilitation.

  • Participate in strategy sessions and applicable training programs and events to provide insights on learning opportunities, make effective recommendations across the organization, and maintain relevancy to industry topics, trends and trigger events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, English, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline. - Preferred

  • 2 years of experience in writing using instructional design principles and developing learning materials, programs, curricula for in-classroom and virtual audiences.

  • 2 years of experience in creating content and design materials within a multi-segmented organization focused on contact center, sales, and service channels or international scale. .

  • Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $22.41 - $35.22 hourly. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
