Pfaudler, Inc. Logistics Coordinator in Rochester, New York

LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

GMM Pfaudler is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Logistics Coordinator schedules inbound and outbound shipments for intercompany and customer orders; verifies orders are picked and shipped correctly; completes all needed customs related documentation and procures transportation quotes. The Coordinator also works with other departments to expedite needed parts for shipments. The Coordinator is a key part of our lean initiative and supports process improvements across the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

Logistics:

Quotes shipments as requested.

Arranges freight for both inbound and outbound shipments along with all required paperwork.

Reviews, evaluates, freight brokers and service providers for best rates and shipment times.

Manages the outside process shipment process and transact orders in and out of operation work centers.

Expedites parts and material throughout the plant for upcoming shipments.

Actively searches for vendors, and partners who will improve the profitability of the company.

Keeps abreast of changes in the market as it effects shipping spend and lead time critical to Pfaudler.

Communicates and coordinates the resolution of shipping issues with all parties involved (internal and external).

Maintains a professional relationship with existing suppliers while actively investigating new sources of supply.

Ensures transportation is arranged to ensure products leave the facility in accordance with defined schedules.

Act as back-up for the Shipping Supervisor position as needed.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and/or establishing personal networks

QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. degree in Materials, Business Management, logistics or related field is preferred; or equivalent related experience.

Knowledgeable of LEAN principles within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of INCO terms, customs requirements, and other international logistics requirements.

Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint and a tier 1 or 2 ERP business systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, JD Edwards).
