Compensation Range:

$31.50 - $40.95

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Performs complex technical assignments which are broadly outlined, require theoretical insight and interpretation, and allow latitude for planning and modifying methods and techniques. Exercises a high degree of skill and judgment, and an understanding of the principles and methodology of a technical field.Responsibilities Job Summary: The Medical Technologist II is responsible for timely and accurate test analysis using moderately complex methods and / or instrumentation. The Medical Technologist needs to be detail-oriented, and exhibit the ability to think and work independently due to the community-based nature of the Interlakes Oncology and Hematology practice. Must exercise excellent clinical judgment, utilize independent problem solving and have exceptional interpersonal skills with a multidisciplinary team and with patient's and caregivers. The candidate must be able to work at alternate community locations when needed. Responsibilities: - Analyze patient blood samples using current, moderately complex laboratory methods and instrumentation. - Adhere to established laboratory protocols and follows all safety rules and regulations. - Adhere to quality control and quality assurance protocols. - Report results of patient sample analysis. - Professional discretion and confidentiality are required. - Blood Collection (draws) and patient blood processing and urine sample. Assist with bone marrow procedures. - Perform and document instrument preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. - Maintain a clean, safety-oriented laboratory environment. Works both independently and as part of a broad integrated healthcare team to include doctors, advanced practitioners, nurses and medical secretaries all focused on providing compassionate, exceptional care to the patients of Interlakes Oncology and Hematology. Qualifications: BS in Medical Technology or BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology with certification by the registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, or other nationally recognized professional certifying body, or a 4-year college education in an appropriate science and 6 years of closely related clinical laboratory experience. Six (6) years prior experience as a Licensed Medical Technologist is required. Experience with phlebotomy and patient interaction is a plus. Must have a current NYS License. MT(ASCP) certification desired.
