    Position Summary

  • We are currently looking for an experienced SAP Materials Management (MM) business analyst. This person will be a key player in Gleason’s growing IT organization, enabling the company to maximize the value of its SAP investments.

  • We are looking for a highly capable functional analyst to optimize our business processes by leveraging industry standard SAP solutions. You will be analyzing our processes, collaborating with management on SAP best practices, and overseeing the implementation of the SAP solutions.

  • The key to success in this role is to be an advocate for our users. As an IT organization, our core mission is to serve our users. You will need to exhibit patience, empathy and flexibility so that you can make our users’ jobs easier, error proofed, faster and more efficient. Success will further require you to exhibit an in-depth knowledge of specialized business needs and extensive experience in integrating SAP processes. This knowledge must translate into the ability to clearly communicate to the users how to properly leverage the solutions. This position will allow you to work on international projects within the Gleason global community.

  • This highly visible position will report directly to the Director of Corporate IT.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Candidate must be proficient in the Materials Management (MM) SAP module. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, procurement, inventory management, material master, vendor management, inter-company transfers. Because of the synergy with SAP Customer Service (CS) requirements, growing your role in the CS side and within Gleason’s Customer Service community is natural progression.

  • Assess business needs via business process analysis, collaboration, and observation – particularly for the service and Supply Chain processes within Gleason facilities

  • Requirements gathering, SAP Configuration, specifying interfaces, and data migration, testing, and training will be your responsibility within the CS and MM modules

  • Determine how to best leverage SAP platform and industry standard processes to enhance targeted business functions

  • Assist in building the organization’s master data management function by delivering best practices, controls and policies.

  • In your MM role, you will support the global Supply Chain community, including taking a leadership role for certain topics and events.

  • Identify any gaps in standard processes to meet Gleason’s needs and assess appropriate solutions – including, but not limited to designing custom SAP programs or interfacing with other software platforms.

  • Provide training and support to end users. This is extremely important to ensure business continuity and realize operational efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with SAP Core Team, SAP and other partners to configure SAP solutions to ensure smooth system integration, enhanced functionalities, and user-friendly interfaces.

  • Document processes in a clear manner as they pertain to Gleason’s business processes and terminology.

  • Comply with industry regulations

  • Keep informed of the latest SAP updates, developments, and offerings.

    Requirements

  • Participation in a minimum of 2 full cycle multi-site SAP deployments is desired – on SAP ECC or S/4HANA

  • In depth knowledge of the Materials Management (MM) module is required. Willingness to learn to support the Customer Service (CS) module is desirable

  • Oversight of and collaboration with implementation partner consultants and application management technicians is desired.

  • Target experience range for this position is 5-10 years in a professional role supporting SAP environments and projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, business, finance, or in a related field.

  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing, production, procurement business processes and their integration with SAP systems.

  • Ability to use ABAP debug is desirable and highly beneficial in this role

  • Ability to manage multiple projects is required; ability to work with users to define priorities is paramount

  • In-depth knowledge of the latest advancements in SAP applications.

  • Ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels and situations.

  • Pronounced bias to action and a sense of urgency; able to quickly form, communicate and defend a point of view. Demonstrated ability to think-on-the-feet and make quick decisions.

  • Resourceful and ability to demonstrate accomplishments using small teams.

  • Experience using SAP C4C or Salesforce CRM solutions is a plus

  • Language skills: English is a must both spoken and written

  • Some travel may be required. Both in the US and internationally depending on project statuses, situations and timing.
