The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will assist Distribution Center Management in achieving operational excellence, by assisting in various operational duties. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk works closely with drivers, customer service, and forklift operators to ensure efficient and timely work flow through the Distribution Center.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Assist with inbound shipments (unloading / verifying) Assist with outbound shipments (loading / verifying). Examines and accepts shipments of items and maintains receiving documents and records. Initiates action for payment of items received and/or for adjustment of defective items.

  • Load and unload materials including, but not limited to direct materials, indirect materials, outgoing parcels, skids, U-boats, and capital medical equipment.

  • Enters data into automated inventory control system using a computer or scanning device. Kit items for outbound shipments

  • May originate orders and requests for items which fall within a perpetual inventory or other predefined stock system. Conducts physical inventory of parts and maintains storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

  • Maintains equipment and work area in accordance with 5S standards

  • Operate material handling equipment: Including, but not limited to, both manual and powered pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklift, balers, shrink wrap machines, and scales.

  • Receives and reviews requests for items such as equipment, personal protective equipment, and services. Verifies, fills in, prepares and documents requests in accordance with standard procedures. May originate billing to departments or to predefined accounts for items ordered. Performs clerical tasks such as typing, filing, record keeping and periodic reporting

  • Places orders for specific requested items consistent with and under the jurisdiction of lawful purchase orders. Submits requests to purchasing department for special purchase orders when needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Up to 2 years of related post high school education or equivalent, or 2 years of related practical experience required.

  • Must have proficient English reading and writing skills and be able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions.

  • Ability to prioritize work, self-starter, organized. Ability to work with Microsoft windows-based computer programs required.
