Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Specialist, Program Management to support our Tactical Communications sector focusing on USSOCOM programs and pursuits. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the cost, schedule, execution, and technical performance requirements of assigned programs through all phases, from inception to completion. They will be managing the programs/pursuits to help achieve quarterly orders, revenue, operating income, and cash flow targets. This person will direct the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements, specifications, operating budget, and contractual financial terms/conditions.

In addiiton, they will work with sales, customers, and dealers to determine and dientify needs, requrieemnts, and new business opportunities. This role will report to Director, Program Management within the TCOM DOD function and will be based in Rochester, NY.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing complex project initiatives of significant importance to the organization, involving cross-functional teams.

  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.

  • Works under general oversight against annual goals and objectives.

  • Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.

  • Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary.

  • Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Occasionally conducts briefings to senior leaders and customers.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Program Management experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Program Management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related Program Management experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Technical background preferred

  • Familiarity with tactical communication technology or C4I systems a plus

  • Experience with Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project or other scheduling tools

  • PMI certification and Earned Value Management experience a plus

  • Good understanding of sound business plan, investments, and business financials

  • Good leadership skills managing functional teams to achieve common goals

  • Self-motivated, good communication skills, and very organized

  • Avid multi-tasker
