Aerotek Electronics Repair Technician in Rockaway, New Jersey

Job Title: Electronics Repair Technician

Pay: $27-$29/hr

Shift: 8:30am-5:30pm - Monday-Friday

Location: Rockaway, NJ

Job Description

The core role of the service technician involves troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of Trend test instruments and maintaining all documentation related to the service process. Key responsibilities include performing routine calibration of electronic and fiber optic test equipment, diagnosing faults, repairing fiber optic fusion splicing equipment, and maintaining meticulous documentation.

  • Calibration, service, and repair of electronic internet testing products

  • Efficient handling of customer products in the service department

  • Troubleshooting and repairing component level surface mount and conventional PCB assemblies

  • Troubleshooting and repairing fiber optic assemblies

  • Documenting all work performed on customer equipment and logging each process stage in the company’s RMA system

  • Invoicing customers for completed work, and preparing estimates for service quotes and invoices

  • Ensuring all test and calibration equipment is up to date as per quality systems

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the company’s products

  • Ensuring all activities comply with the Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Performing other tasks as required

Skills

  • Electronics certification preferred

  • 3+ years of experience with electronic equipment or instruments

  • 2+ years of experience in repair and calibration of electronic equipment or instruments

  • Experience in Troubleshooting and Calibration

  • Fiber Optics Experience preferred

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing to the component level

  • Computer skills

  • Efficiency in handling customer products

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving

  • Cross-functional collaboration
