Dairy Farmers of America Break Relief Operator in Rockford, Illinois

Job Description

This position relieves other operators, to include all Class A jobs, fills in for absent employees as needed, as well as performs work associated with line prep including but not limited to, cleaning tanks, & re-sanitizing lines, setting up lines, restocking lines, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.

  • Load/unload and move items as assigned (including loading and unloading trailers)

  • Sort, bundle and fill containers or place in assembled units.

  • Mark or place identifying labels on product loads, ensuring that all finished product is coded properly.

  • Record movement of stock in and out of work areas.

  • Complete any task assigned due to vacancy withing a department

  • Monitor materials, products and equipment at each step of the process and reports irregularities to supervisor.

  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency or production.

  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.

  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's

  • Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality throughput, and troubleshoot.

  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.

  • Follow all required work safe practices.

  • Responsible for food safety, prerequisite programs and food quality related to designated area.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal

  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks

  • Must be able to push, pull, stand, walk, climb, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to be able to work in a wet environment

  • May have some exposure to dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
