Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our world-class team in Rockford. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact on our automated production equipment. As a Lead Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, maintenance, and improvement of our production equipment. You will also provide training and mentoring to production associates to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote adherence to established safety protocols and guidelines

• Identify and correct unsafe conditions related to electrical safety, shielding, guarding, and emergency stops

• Complete safety reviews and checklists for new equipment and process changes

• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and adjust requirements as needed

• Provide training and updates to equipment-related SOPs

• Specify, research, recommend, install, and validate new production equipment

• Implement design improvements and cost-saving measures

• Participate in continuous improvement activities

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or certificate in Engineering or related field

• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience

• Proficiency in electrical, electronics, and controls technologies

• Experience with automated production equipment and equipment design

• Strong mechanical skills and ability to perform repairs

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Proficiency in PC applications
