The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
This position will work with a diverse engineering team developing a variety of mechanical and structural engineering solutions for military use aircraft predominantly rotary wing application.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, and document detailed mechanical and structural design and analyses in support of drawing release or aircraft repairs including but not limited to free body diagrams, internal or external loading, shear and moment diagrams, and calculation of internal stresses. Analyses will be in support of Material Review Board, MRB, modifications and installations, Aircraft Structural Integrity Program, ASIP and fleet management activities.
Proficient in mechanical and structural design, classical static strength hand analysis, fatigue analysis, and drawing generation and preparation and review.
Knowledge of Airworthiness Directives, ADs, Service Bulletins, SBs, nonstandard repair, equipment and antenna installations, air loads and developing design solutions and equivalent strength analysis applicable to helicopters background is preferred.
The ability to develop design solutions and support with stress analysis to difficult problems with general guidance that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
The ability to concisely present and explain structural issues and solutions to internal team members is required, therefore, strong documentation and communication skills are required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel.
Collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced personnel, prioritize and adjust tasks, prioritize multiple responsibilities and or accomplish them simultaneously, comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop, design, and prove solutions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Ten (10) years of direct experience in a relevant engineering activity.
Aerospace mechanical and structural engineering design and analysis experience.
Aircraft MRO and Repair Depo experience.
In order to provide internal repair dispositions and structural modifications, the candidate must be able to draw in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.Ability to travel OCONUS as needed (less than 10%).
Ability to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Level Clearance – MRPT.
Active US Passport.
Preferred:
Rotary Wing (Helicopter) experience.
Active Secret Clearance
