We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager. This position primarily involves managing asset accounting activities for a variety of capital projects. The successful candidate will work within a large accounting team and will be expected to utilize Workday financials and adhere to GASB 86 and 87 standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee asset accounting for numerous active capital projects.

• Regularly update and maintain accurate records of all capital projects.

• Utilize Workday Financial Management to streamline accounting processes.

• Comply with GASB 86 and 87 standards in all accounting practices.

• Monitor the status and progress of all active capital projects.

• Calculate and record the percentage of completion for each capital project.

• Coordinate with the larger accounting team to ensure seamless operations.

• Address and resolve any issues or inquiries related to asset accounting.

• Implement Capital Improvement plans as necessary.

• Ensure all accounting activities adhere to state and federal regulations.

Requirements • The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, such as an Accounting Manager or a Senior Accountant.

• The applicant should have demonstrable skills in Asset Accounting, GASB, Lease Accounting, Capital Improvement, and Percentage (%) of Completion.

• Proficiency in using Workday Financial Management software is required.

• The individual should have a strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.

• The candidate must have excellent communication and leadership skills to manage the accounting team effectively.

• The applicant should have strong problem-solving abilities and be able to make informed decisions based on financial data.

• The individual should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification would be a plus.

• The candidate should have the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

• The applicant should have strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.

• The individual should have a strong ethical mindset and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
