About the role

The purpose of this position is to lead individual, multi-disciplined real estate project solutions for pharmaceutical clients, in facilities such as research facilities, vivarium, wet/dry labs, and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating mechanical and utility projects related to industrial pharmaceutical facility systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as an agent of the owner leading all phases of construction projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, design, and project management.

  • Manages mechanical and utilities projects for pharmaceutical facilities that require chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, steam, and system control schemes.

  • Collaborates with clients on resolving quality, GxP environments, validation, commissioning, and safety issues.

  • Lead safety risk assessments, ensuring proper authorizations are obtained before expending cost, and ensuring proper coordination with other client stakeholders has taken place to prevent work conflicts.

  • Establishes the scope of project to include performance specifications, planning, cost and cashflow forecasts, procurement strategies and change control.

  • Identifies all contractors/consultants/vendors to be appointed for clearly documented scopes of work and fee schedules.

  • Responsible for all design management of suppliers and subcontractors from initial design up to the procurement stage.Schedules and tracks milestones through the design stage to meet performance specifications, budget, and approval from the client.

  • Undertakes contract negotiations to ensure the best value is being delivered to the customer and makes the formal recommendation to the customer.

  • Ensures all work is done in a safe manner and that customer and vendor welfare is addressed at all stages.

  • Works with the client and vendor to ensure the project is delivered per the agreed commissioning and/or validation requirements.

  • Ensures all punch list work is completed in a timely manner and that it does not interfere with the client’s ability to occupy the space.

  • Ensures all O&M manuals are received and reviewed, and the necessary training is received by staff on equipment.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction management.

  • Proven experience with commissioning and validation.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and with a high-quality standard.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects during different phases

  • Experience with software MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
