Job Description

Seeking an experienced laboratory animal biologist/husbandry technician to support our new animal research facility, specializing in rodents. This role involves performing a range of animal husbandry duties in rodent colonies, ensuring strict adherence to established SOPs and compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities include providing basic care for mice and rats, maintaining sanitary conditions in animal rooms, monitoring rodent colonies, operating husbandry equipment, performing technical duties such as experimental procedures on rodents, and maintaining accurate records.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in ROCKVILLE, Maryland.

Work Environment

Work includes sitting or standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and executing tasks under verbal and written instructions. The role requires working in climate-controlled conditions, occasional exposure to chemicals and biologics with proper protection, and mandatory vaccinations like tetanus. Work schedule includes weekends and some holidays.
