WHITMORE MANUFACTURING Technical Services Manager in Rockwall, Texas

Provide technical support, training, and guidance for internal and external customers on the usage of the companys products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute on behalf of the company in Industry Organization committees to ensure our products are front and center when industry standards and best practices are being developed. Examples of Industry Organizations include: ASTM, ASME, API, ILMA,
  • Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to obtain product approvals including: o Technical sessions with OEM engineering team. o Application testing and analysis.
  • Work with end users and organizations to get products specd into their approved manufacturers list so our products are approved for use in their applications.
  • Develop and fine tune training content. Conduct training sessions for distributors, end users, prospects, and new employees on the value of our products and on key principles of effective lubrication.
  • Provide technical sales support with existing and prospective customers.
  • Participate in new product development activities to ensure understanding of customer application and requirements.
  • Troubleshoot problems in the field around product performance and work with technical and operations to determine the root cause and corrective action. Assist in resolving customer complaints.
  • Recommend products for use in specific customer applications or as offsets to competitive materials.
  • Gather case study information on product performance in the field and work with marketing to turn the data into commercial support materials.
  • Develop and execute trial plans for new product introductions and benchmark performance against competitive grades.
  • Troubleshoot issues with product performance and warranty issues in the field.
  • Conduct field trials of products and gather information for case studies.
  • Qualify new products at customers and measure performance vs. the competition.
  • Attend trade shows and support customer interactions at trade events, as needed.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Subject Matter Expert with Anti-Seize Products, Thread Sealants, Drilling Compounds, and associated applications.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel >50%.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, science, or business.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a technical support role in a lubricants/grease manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with different levels of employees internally and externally to provide support and guidance on technical solutions.
  • Ability to reason and simplify complex processes.
  • Strong leadership, managerial, facilitation, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and function specific software.
  • Hands-on and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines.
  • High energy and superb communication skills with the ability to consultatively propose value propositions to our internal and external customers.
  • Strong follow through skills to close leads and action items.
  • An active listener who continues to learn while pulling others to collaborate in achieving global objectives - A collaborative style.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to hold accountability.
