First Carolina Bank Loan Servicing Specialist in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

Position Purpose:

  • This position is responsible for managing assigned functions in the Banks Loan Servicing Department.
  • Responsibilities include onboarding of new and renewed loans, processing requests, collateral tracking, release of collateral, report balancing, and managing loan-related core system functions.
  • Daily duties include implementing quality assurance standards to ensure that loan documentation is complete and conforms to established guidelines. Perform all aspects of loan servicing including posting of payments, insurance coverage/tracking, maintenance requests, and scanning of all loan documentation. Communicate effectively with sales and support teams within the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Balance Daily Loan Settlement Reports
  • Fund loans in accordance with federal laws, Bank policy, and approved loan commitment.
  • Book new loans, process lines of credit, and perform file maintenance on loan accounts
  • Process a variety of loan documents including Deeds of Trust, financial statements, and Liens
  • Secure collateral
  • Prepare and manage credit and non-negotiable document files
  • Maintain Monthly updates of Forced Placed Insurance and Flood Insurance spreadsheets
  • Maintain Loan Tickler system to ensure timely receipt of financial statements, tax returns, collateral documents, renewals, insurance, etc.
  • Process paperwork including payments, billings, draws, general ledger items, etc.
  • Quote loan balances, payoffs and payment information to customers, lending officers and processors
  • Process loan payments, loan draws, participation payments and advances
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for continuous improvements to Loan Operations processes, risk management and compliance.
  • Assist other operations or back-room partners with special projects
  • Assist with indexing loan documents to the document storage system

Key Relationships

  • Routine interaction with Loan and Deposit Services personnel, department heads and Retail Banking, Finance, IT, Enterprise Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Sales.
  • Chief Credit Officer and Senior Credit Analysist

Job Specifications:

Position adheres to confidentiality policy, code of ethics and knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and best practices and other pertinent Regulatory laws and regulations.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years experience in bank operations

Preferred:

  • Some college
  • Prior loan operations experience
  • JHA Silverlake experience
  • JHA Synergy experience
  • Onboard experience
