EWS Program Director 1 Rolling Meadows, IL facility,

Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Navigation, Targeting and Survivability (NTS) Division has an immediate opening for a Program Director 1 position. This position reports directly to the Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) Operating Unit Director and will be a full-time onsite position located at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility, requiring travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities, customers, and supplier sites as needed.

The director will be responsible for leading a portfolio of EWS production programs and will be tasked with ensuring successful execution of existing programs, as well as the strategic pursuit of new business opportunities to grow the business portfolio. In addition, the director will be responsible for the management and people leadership of a team of program managers leading the various programs and pursuits in the portfolio. This is a leadership position with daily executive interactions, and the successful candidate must display consistent impeccable judgment and embody Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels, including executive leadership.

The Program Director will lead all phases of programs from capture and inception through completion and closeout, including the responsibilities outlined below:

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of programs across the portfolio

  • Oversees the negotiation of contract and contract changes

  • Develops new business across the EWS product line, working in partnership with the Strategy and Mission Solutions team

  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract

  • Engages with customer and supplier leadership regarding program activities and challenges, and oversees program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance

  • Proactively identifies trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develops solutions in partnership with peers, division and matrix leadership, COE and regional/division HR business leaders

  • Concisely and effectively presents information to the management team to enable sound business decisions

  • Provides day-to-day people leadership of a diverse team and create an environment that accelerates development of talent; drives continuous improvement and enhances employee engagements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience supporting Department of Defense, Government contracts, or project management in other industries

  • Demonstrated program execution experience across various program phases and contract types

  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance

  • Demonstrated understanding of EVMS and Risk and Opportunity Management

  • Demonstrated experience with new business / capture management

  • Demonstrated experience with establishing customer intimacy

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance; OR DoE equival

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration

  • Experience capturing/executing international FMS and/or DCS programs

  • Experience leading a team of program managers, with demonstrated success aligning teams, organizations to achieve a common goal

  • Prior experience supporting Radio-Frequency Electronic Warfare products and technologies

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)

Salary Range: $200,100 - $300,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
