Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer . This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Rome, New York .

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Battle and Mission Readiness Division.

Roles/Responsibilities :

  • Manage, operate, and deploy AWS components, accounts, services, and tools to ensure efficient and effective utilization of AWS resources.

  • Identify existing processes and architect automated solutions to enhance efficiency; develop and implement automation scripts and tools.

  • Aid in maintaining compliance of the secure cloud environment by engaging with information assurance teams to ensure adherence to security protocols and standards.

  • Use DevOps tools such as Gitlab, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Ansible, implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, participating in team meetings, and providing input on cloud architecture and best practices.

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability of the cloud infrastructure and applications.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must :

  • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution

  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as CASP+ or Security+ within 60 days of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
