Indium Corporation Manufacturing Quality Engineering Intern in Rome, New York

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
Lead Quality Inspections: Conduct product and process inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal specifications.
Data Analysis: Analyze production data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with senior engineers to resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action development.
Process Optimization: Use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process efficiency and reduce defects.
Reporting and Presentation: Prepare reports and presentations highlighting data insights and improvement strategies for cross-functional teams.
Support Compliance Audits: Ensure adherence to regulations and certification requirements like ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
All interns must be active college students who have completed their freshman year and are enrolled in courses for the Fall semester of 2025.
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with coursework in quality control or manufacturing processes.
Basic understanding of quality management principles and tools, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO standards.
Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
