The Carrier Relations Manager, will be a critical leader and business developer, establishing a strong carrier development and carrier management function for Gampac. Create and lead initiatives to grow our existing network of transportation providers and customers and manage their performance. Provide consistent carrier capacity by building Gampac’s carrier base and offering superior service and competitive pricing across all markets. Collaborate with Gampac leaders to design and build the function to support Gampac’s aggressive growth plan.

This position is hybrid which means the work is completed from our corporate offices in Rosemont Illinois as well remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Direction

• Develop and deploy carrier sourcing and development strategies, market penetration and contracted pricing strategies to align and achieve the company’s growth plans.

• Maintain extensive knowledge of the competition and know how to differentiate Gampac Logistics.

• Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.

• Work cohesively with all internal departments including Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and IT to drive continuous improvement efforts to improve our customer experience and to enhance operational efficiencies.

• Develop strategies to increase depth in the carrier base to support brokerage or other forms of fast, uncertain growth.

Operations and Process Management

• Design and implement optimal organization structure for the function.

• Create optimized and scalable business processes to handle ongoing expansion and deliver on customer requirements.

• Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the carrier management function.

• Manage and oversee day-to-day operations including the sales pipeline, the relationship carrier retention rate and drive consistent carrier utilization

• Maintain a dashboard of KPIs visible to the business and demonstrate how carrier management activities impact performance for the company.

• Create an environment of continuous improvement in all areas related to carrier management.

Team Leadership

• Provide leadership and create an environment that fosters passion, teamwork, and agility within the organization.

• Attract, inspire, lead and actively develop highly-talented team members to achieve departmental and individual goals.

• Oversee or directly manage major targets and critical developing opportunities; participate in closing strategic opportunities.

• Coordinate development programs that enable staff to achieve goals and maximize their potential.

Financial Management

• Explore revenue and profit driving actions while ensuring superior levels of service.

• Accountable for profitability and achievement of financial targets.

• Facilitate the preparation of annual budget and analyze monthly variances.
