HARIBO of America Manager of Procurement in Rosemont, Illinois

The Manager of Procurement will lead the growing HARIBO of America procurement team. Managing a team of Procurement Buyers, this role will be located on-site at either our corporate office in Rosemont, Illinois office or our manufacturing plant offices in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin office. Reporting up to our Sr. Director of Procurement, this role will work between both HARIBO locations. 

The Manager of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing strategies related to purchasing of both “indirect” procurement (for example: office supplies, equipment, CapEx, travel, etc) and “direct” procurement (raw materials used to make gummies including starch, glucose, gelatin, etc).  The Procurement Manager will focus on building strong relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The ideal Manager of Procurement will have prior experience with “direct” procurement, purchasing raw materials for a manufacturer, this includes the purchasing of raw materials used to manufacture a product in any industry. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have 3+ years of people management experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field plus 7+ years of work experience in procurement or supply chain field.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, supervise, lead, and mentor a small team of experienced Procurement Buyers

  • Develop, implement, and execute procurement strategies of both raw materials and finished goods

  • Support and develop day-to-day operations of Procurement team, career development, coaching/mentoring as needed

  • Manage and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers as well as external legal counsel

  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability standards

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurements needs an provide timely supply of required materials and ingredients

    Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory / people management experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field

  • 1+ years of experience working in “direct” procurement, the purchasing of raw materials used in manufacturing a product. Working for a manufacturer that uses those raw materials to make a product

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience using SAP

  • Consumer packaged goods industry experience

  • Food manufacturing or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry experience

    Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrate negotiation skills
