Learn more about us at https://www.hawkinsinc.com/careers/ ABOUT THE JOB Provide the necessary engineering and technical support to continuously improve plant equipment integrity, reliability, cost, and economic performance across the facilities. Position will also support existing process troubleshooting efforts for design improvements and new regulatory or customer requirements while providing facilities support. Responsibilities Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company SOPs and complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulations (from Maintenance Sup JD). Support all HSE programs, policies, and regulations. Ensure that all employees are in compliance with HSE policies, procedures and regulations as required. Reliability Engineering Manage all preventative maintenance activities across the operations, including developing and tracking metrics to evaluate progress and incorporating the program into the overall Lean Initiative. Serve as the lead role in equipment & parts standardization. Set vision/direction for all maintenance activities across Operations. Coordinate work activities with direct supervisor for site maintenance personnel Provide technical support to production, capital, and maintenance departments. Understand maintenance and production work processes, methods, cost points, etc. Support planning of major and specialized maintenance jobs. Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activity programs, and provide technical support to maintenance and operations functions in continuous improvement activities. Develop and propose preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance plans that equipment require from their start-up and throughout their life cycle, specifying and updating frequency for each maintenance task, based on a normal operation and on the objectives of the maintenance function. Suggest specific activities for inspection, lubrication, cleaning and change of parts to equipment, based on recommendations from the manufacturer, the supplier and from the own experience of the personnel in plant, in order to timely detect and/or to avoid equipment deterioration. Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve equipment problems, investigate incidents, and improve reliability. Participate in root cause and FMEA failure analysis on critical equipment failures. Initiate capital projects to maintain / enhance business goals. Assist in the investigation and evaluation of new methodologies, work practices, and technology. Represent Hawkins in a professional manner with both internal and external customers. Facilities Perform inspection and maintenance in a PSM/RMP regulated facility. Perform maintenance support for general facility needs, project-based work, and equipment repairs. Boiler/HVAC/Compressors/Pump operations Welding Piping fitting/installation, familiarity with ASME B31.3 requirements Participate in emergency response Maintain/monitor plant and work area housekeeping standards. Must be willing to flex between work locations as required and be flexible with work schedule including working weekends and extended hours as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. ABOUT YOU BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Related degree with +2 years of experience or MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with +2 years of experience in Maintenance Reliability or equivalent experience 10 - 15+ years of experience pipefitting and in maintenance Excellent written and verbal ommunication skills Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization Proficient in working with stainless steel, PVC, CPVC, and other material used in the chemical industry Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications MRP (JDE preferred) and maintenance computer program experience required Desired, but not required skills and knowledge: Lean Manufacturing Root Cause/Corrective Action Analysis Cause and Effect Diagrams ISO & SQF Standards Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand and climb stairs for up to 12 hours per day. Ability to work in a warehouse facility where temperatures may range from 45 up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit; as well as work outside in all weather conditions. Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching. Able to work in a non-smoking, tobacco-free site (if applicable). Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. 10-20 feet up to 10 times/day; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, frequently. Must be able to pull/push equipment and/or piping weighing up to 100 pounds into position for 1 -2 minutes up to 40 times a day. Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet, on occasion. Ability to work in a warehouse facility where temperatures may range from 45 up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit; as well as work outside in all weather conditions; snow, rain, wind, and high humidity. Able to perform manual dexterity tasks. Ability to work in confined spaces. No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area. Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day.
