Sutter Health Anesthesia Technician, Outpatient in Roseville, California

Position Overview:

The primary role of the Anesthesia Technician (AT) is the set up, preoperative checks, physician procedural assistance, and daily maintenance of all anesthesia related equipment. The AT orders non-narcotic drugs for anesthesia. Ensures an adequate inventory of supplies and environmental control within the OR suites and the anesthesia workroom. To accomplish this, the AT utilizes technological, organizational and interpersonal skills. . The Anesthesia Tech assists with sterile supply set up for arterial lines and other indwelling central lines. The anesthesia tech also provides for cell saver blood collection and salvage in the operating room.

Provides care based on the age-related needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and trauma patient with consideration of their developmental/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, educational needs, communication style, and level of understanding.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

  • Associate's: Anesthesia Technology or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire

  • Auto-Transfusion Certification within 180 Days of hire

  • Medical Terminology course Upon Hire

  • CCCA-Certified Anesthesia Technician

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • Prior work experience in an acute care facility

  • Prior work experience in an operating room environment

  • Experience with sterile supplies and processing of reusable equipment

  • Experience with anesthesia related equipment and supplies

  • Prior experience as an AT

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Demonstrated skills in using proper aseptic technique and the principals of disinfection are desirable

  • An awareness of principles of universal precautions when handling and processing used supplies and equipment

  • Medical Terminology course is required within one year of hire

Pay Range is $33.76 to $41.17 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
