Xylem Laboratory Technician I in Roseville, Minnesota

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and adhere to EWT safety policies and procedures

  • Analysis facility effluent, in accordance with EPA testing methods and EWT SOPs. Coordinating results into various databases and reporting results to the appropriate personal.

  • Perform sampling, testing, and acceptance of client waste deliveries in accordance with SOPs. Receive information into computer database and tag waste in compliance with RCRA part B permit. Notify Lab Supervisor of discrepancies

  • Perform fingerprint analysis on incoming spent activated carbon waste shipments.

  • Perform quality inspection analysis on finished reactivated activated product samples

  • Run variety of laboratory instruments, maintain instrument calibration to assure accurate test results. All analysis shall be done in accordance with EWT Laboratory SOP’s.

  • Conduct ion exchange and other testing using current SOP’s

  • Make and standardize laboratory reagents solutions as needed.

  • Assure lab supplies are in stock, and order as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate housekeeping standards.

Position Requirements:

Required:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • 2 -5 yrs. experience working in Lab environment

  • Able to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

  • Demonstrated computer competency skills

  • Ability to navigate various software programs and operating systems.

  • Able to understand and perform mathematics commensurate with the job

Knowledge and Experience:

Required:

  • Instrumentation knowledge - ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) and Ion Chromatograph experience.

  • Able to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

  • Demonstrated computer competency skills

  • Ability to navigate various software programs and operating systems.

  • Able to understand and perform mathematics commensurate with the job
