Salvation Army Staff Accountant in Roseville, Minnesota

Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of ledgers, financial reporting, and budgeting of assigned departments/locations. Up to $31.25/hour, 40 hours/week 2445 Prior Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 Essential Functions (approximate time spent) * Maintain accurate ledgers, financial reporting, and budgeting of assigned departments/locations (40%). * Ensure donations and grant funding are appropriately utilized and documented (20%). * Coordinate work flow for assigned departments/locations with internal department staff (20%). * Prepare timely financial statements (10%). * Monitor budgets on a monthly basis (5%). * Assist in preparing annual budget templates and input approved budget data (5%). Education and Experience * Associate's degree in accounting. In lieu of degree, relevant experience may be considered. * Previous accounting experience required, preference given to non-profit accounting. * Pass background checks; valid driver's license and meet MVR driver's qualifications preferred. Competencies * Willing to support the philosophy, goals, and mission of The Salvation Army. * Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. * Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. * Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. * Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Working Conditions * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds at a time. * Competency with PC, Microsoft Office, Adobe, General Ledgers, and standard office equipment required. * Must be able to communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone for reasonable periods. * Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Travel Requirements Occasional travel by agency or personal vehicle may be necessary, if MVR cleared. Other Duties This job description is not all inclusive.
