MnDOT Metro District is filling multiple Student Worker vacancies with an anticipated duration of summer to fall 2025.
These are full-time positions working Monday through Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm.
The classification will be either Student Worker Paraprofessional or Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior based on education status.
These positions will assist in performing inventory and inspections of the hydraulic Water Resources infrastructure; utilize GIS/GPS applications for analysis and reporting as required; support Water Resources Engineering automation and information resource support efforts for the MnDOT Metro District.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be a student in a college/university, trade or technical school. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester or nine quarter credits. If enrolled in a non-credit granting institution or one that offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Education Verification form prior to employment.
Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Soil Science, Hydraulics, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Earth Science, GIS or related field.
A valid Class D driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using data loggers, GPS equipment, and/or GIS software to make maps.
Stong background in GIS/GPS and a high degree of computer literacy.
Familiarity with Arc Map software.
Field work experience.
