Akima Statistical Analyst (SA) in Rosslyn, Virginia

Responsibilities

The SA primary job responsibilities will be to compile data, analyze it, and turn it into products that Program Managers can use to make decisions. Therefore, the SA will use statistical methods to collect, analyze and report data pertaining to the worldwide protection services, local guard, bodyguard, and surveillance detection programs, including the budget, contractual initiatives and any other programs pertinent to continuous process improvement and operational initiatives. The SA works under the guidance of Government officials in the Operational Support Division.

  • Compiles, manages and analyzes large datasets from multiple structured and unstructured sources to create integrated views that can be used to drive decisions.

  • Evaluates the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data and implement improvements.

  • Analyzes and interprets quantitative data.

  • Ensures validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy in data.

  • Recommends/implements solutions for identified opportunities or gaps.

  • Extracts and processes data for statistical modeling and graphic analysis, identify relations and trends in data that provide answers to questions posed by supervisors.

  • Evaluates sources of information to determine any limitations in terms of reliability or usability.

  • Consults with internal customers to develop analysis that leads to actionable insights that solve business needs.

  • Prioritizes and provides ad hoc data analysis for product/business requests.

  • Designs and builds reports, dashboards and present analysis results using a variety of data visualization tools.

  • Participates in process management reviews, collaborating with program teams to define data solutions to support program functionality and maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or other quantitative discipline); OR four (4) years of specialized experience in statistics, data analysis with largedatasets.

  • Developed communicative skills, ability to present confidently at alllevels.

  • Advanced analytics and data visualization presentationskills.

  • Experience designing and building reports in multipletools.

  • Experience with enterprise datawarehouses.

  • Knowledgeable of software development experience and understanding ofprogramming language.

  • Knowledgeable in building data sets, data models and predictiveengines.

  • Ability to present statistical analysis to non-technical users in a format that is relevant to and supports managementdecisions.

  • The SA shall possess a Secret clearance.
