Corewell Health Physician - Cardiology - Cardiac Advanced Imaging in Royal Oak, Michigan

As an Advanced Imaging Cardiologist, you will be an integral member of a dynamic team comprising five advanced cardiac imagers and a robust group of cardiologists proficient in Coronary CTA studies and echocardiography. This role demands a high level of expertise in various imaging modalities, including Cardiac CT / FFR-CT, Cardiac MRI, echocardiography, and nuclear imaging. The successful candidate will be involved in direct patient care, the instruction and mentorship of cardiology fellows, and participate in innovative research and development within the department.

Key Services and Capabilities:

  • Dedicated Cardiac CT: Our facility performs over 6,000 cardiac CT scans annually, operating 365 days per year with 12 hours per day coverage. This includes a robust emergency department chest pain triage system, facilitating over 1,600 CT scans per year in the ED/observation unit. Our team of cardiologists provide comprehensive structural CT interpretations for TAVR, TMVR, TTVR, LAA, and a variety of other advanced imaging studies, supported by a pioneering FFR-CT program established in 2016.

  • Cardiac MRI: With more than 1,800 MRI scans performed yearly, our team of dedicated cardiologists provide extensive diagnostic capabilities.

  • Echocardiography: Our echocardiography service performs over 30,000 echocardiograms a year. Our team provides interventional imaging TEE support for a broad variety of structural heart interventions, including over 300 TAVR procedures, more than 80 TEER procedures, and over 150 LAA occlusion procedures annually.

  • Nuclear Medicine: We offer a busy nuclear medicine service that includes PET and SPECT CT imaging.

Anticipated Role/Scope: You will be:

  • An integral member of the multi-discipline heart valve team.

  • A leader in Cardiac CT and MRI, driving advancements in cardiac imaging.

  • Providing crucial TEE support for a variety of interventional procedures.

  • Actively involved in the daily education and mentoring of cardiology fellows, internal medicine residents and Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine students.

  • Delivering both inpatient and outpatient clinical services.

  • Engaged in innovative research projects to advance cardiac imaging and treatment.

  • MD/DO with completed cardiology fellowship.
