The opportunity:

Gauley Woodyard is located East of Rupert, WV.

How you will impact WestRock:

Safety: Smurfit Westrock safety practices and procedures are to be strictly followed without exception. You will be expected to demonstrate safety at all times and to assist in training your team members and enforce safety in all facets of the woodyard\u2019s operations.

Maintenance: You will oversee housekeeping, maintenance, and necessary improvements of the physical needs of the property, buildings and equipment.

Environmental: Strict adherence to environmental regulations and policies as well as obtaining storm water samples.

Procurement: Obtain the necessary supplies for yard operations and maintenance. This will require an understanding of Smurfit WestRock\u2019s purchasing systems including J D Edwards and Coupa. You will also be an integral part of meeting the department\u2019s wood purchasing goals. This includes building the relationships necessary to accomplish the woodyard\u2019s goals with loggers, drivers and trucking companies.

Quality: Including and not limited to the safe unloading/loading and inspection of inbound and outbound trucks/trailers. The manager is also an integral part of wood quality initiatives and enforcement.

Supervision: Employing daily your team\u2019s skills to meet the long-term goals of Gauley Woodyard.

Accounting: Weigh incoming and outbound loads as needed as well as assisting in the tracking of yard inventories.

What you need to succeed:

• Leadership experience and qualities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Mechanically inclined.

• Willing and able to be trained on heavy and small equipment.

• Must be willing to work outside in all seasons.

• Must be willing to travel to Covington VA and Monterey, VA on a limited as needed basis.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Work overtime as required.

• Excel, and Word knowledge helpful
