ARLP GS LLC Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting in RYE, New York

Through our REIT and Opportunistic Fund investment platforms, we are focused primarily on the acquisition, ownership, redevelopment and management of retail properties, including neighborhood and community shopping centers, urban high-barrier-to-entry street retail, and mixed-use properties with retail components.Acadia Realty Trust is currently seeking an Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting. This position will take an active role in ensuring that significant transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and rules for public companies set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). In that regard, this role will assist with:Researching new accounting pronouncements as well as documenting the Company’s related position and changes in procedures and disclosures, if applicableTrack and analyze the Company’s material deals and transactions as they relate to GAAP and SEC requirements; create memos documenting technical accounting and disclosure considerations; work with accounting staff to ensure transactions are properly recordedAssist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and proceduresAct as liaison between the Company’s third-party internal audit firm, the Company’s Audit Committee and the Company for SOX matters involving internal controls over financial reportingPPA and Lease Accounting review and analysisWork very closely with the Director, Financial Reporting and will be a driving force in the preparation of the Company’s public disclosures including the Company’s quarterly financial statements, Supplemental Report, press releases and SEC filingsCollaborate with the accounting team in the preparation of various disclosuresCoordinate the review and proofing of financial statements / filingsDocument compliance with disclosure requirementsAssist with the review of XBRLOther accounting and reporting related projects as neededThe Company will consider candidates that possess the following characteristics:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent is requiredCPA or equivalent is required3-5 years public accounting experience, Big 4 or national firmExperience working with public companies and review of SEC filingsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong public speaking and presentation skillsAbility to interact with all levels of personnelA hands-on approach and strong work ethicExperience with the real estate industry is preferredThe base salary compensation range for this role reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual.
