Robert Half Director of Finance in Sacramento, California

Description

We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our team in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the organization's financial strategies, overseeing all financial functions, and providing administrative and operational oversight. Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial functions, including but not limited to accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis, regulatory filings, and treasury.

• Engage with all stakeholders to develop the organization's annual budget and related multi-year financial plans.

• Continuously review financial, budgeting, and administrative processes with the aim of achieving process and outcome improvements.

• Make financial presentations to the executive team, Board, and other relevant parties as needed.

• Establish relationships and develop a clear understanding of how finance supports each of these areas.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding and assessment of the organization's financial systems and processes.

• Manage internal accounting personnel and coordinate with outsourced accounting personnel.

• Provide Board education sessions annually, focusing on changes to accounting standards related to nonprofits or IRS tax issues specific to nonprofits.

• Serve on the Association Budget and Finance Committee and serve as the liaison between the investment advisor and the Association Budget and Finance Committee.

• Contribute to the development and ongoing support of the business and strategy of the organization, including strategic plan, technology, and revenue growth initiatives.

• Build and maintain effective financial, accounting, and internal control systems and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and budgets and actual expenditures.

Requirements • Proven experience in a VP/Director of Finance role or similar senior financial leadership positions.

• Advanced knowledge of Accounting Functions and Annual Budget management.

• Proficient in auditing, budget processes, and budgeting - forecasting.

• Strong understanding of QuickBooks and its applications in financial management.

• Ability to develop and implement effective Business Strategy.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or relevant certification (such as CFA/CPA) is preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of data privacy standards.

• Solid ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
