Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is composed of several companies, but at its core there are two. In April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon fiber manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and Composites, a prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create Mitsubishi Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in 2017, we re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made multiple acquisitions within the United States. In addition to these acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our current facility’s capabilities. The Human Resource Generalist will facilitate the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) responsibilities for the organization including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. What You Will Do...

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Implements and facilitates new hire orientation and onboarding experience.

  • Communicates employee recognition and other applicable programs and initiatives.

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations. Assist and review all performance reviews for accuracy, and completion. Prepare spreadsheets to correlate to annual performance increase.

  • Assign annual training to employees as well as new hires. Track monthly completion and report to management for HR KPI. Communicate to employees for new training, completion tracking and past due status.

  • Manage and provide support for FMLA and other leaves, communicating with employee on status, providing proper papers needed and forwarding information to plant representatives and corporate and managing return to work physicals.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and recognizes ways to improve policies and procedures.

  • Maintains HRIS system integrity, payroll and benefits administration.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and at least 5 years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist.

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry required. Previous experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.

  • Professional Certification (SPHR or PHR) is highly desirable but not required.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Must be able to work independently and in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with employees, business leaders and customers.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $80,355 - $100,443. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
