Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Director in Sadsbury Township, Pennsylvania

Newport Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Christiana, PA is seeking to hire a creative Director of Activities with previous Long-Term Care experience to enrich the lives of our residents!

The responsibilities & duties:

  • Establish a plan to ease the transition for our residents and make life as fulfilling as possible through planning, developing, and implementing recreational activities that will meet the needs of our residents and target each life domain (physical, emotional, mental & spiritual).

  • As the Activity Director, you set the tone for the activities for our residents and strive to provide the best experience possible.

  • Working closely with both residents and recreation staff, you plan activities based on ability and need.

The Qualifications & Qualities Needed to be Successful:

  • Possess a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Certified Activities Professional

  • Have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in Activities/Therapeutic Recreation

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of recreation experience in the long-term care setting

  • Has the drive to support our person-centered care approach in order to meet each resident’s needs and preferences

  • Possess a true passion for excellence in quality of life measures

  • Effective communication skills to interact with residents, their family members, and the healthcare team members
