JOB TITLE: Part-Time Deputy Coroner

MUSTS: Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver s license and ability to be on-call and available to respond 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, as needed. Must be able to pass background check and pre-employment drug testing, including for marijuana.

SKILLS: Proficiency with observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Capability to enter, transcribe, record, store and maintain information in required written or electronic form. Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with others.

DUTIES: Assisting the Saguache County Coroner as needed to inquire into the cause, manner, and circumstance of human deaths and establishing the identities of deceased persons. Would also need to be on call/as needed to assist with transporting the deceased.

WAGES: Coroner calls are paid at $150 per call and Transports are $150 per call. Weekday on call is $15 per day and Weekend on call is $30 per day. Paid Bi-weekly.
