    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND

  • Three (3) years of professional Administrative experience or related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for providing oversight of the Federal Recognition Board process ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and procedures. Serves as the program specialist, providing guidance to subordinate commands, counterparts, and supervisors to resolve issues within the federal recognition process. Responsible for reviewing and verifying required documentation in packets submitted to be federally recognized for promotion or appointment. Notifies unit personnel of gaps, inconsistencies or discrepancies with packet submissions and the necessary steps or processes required to resolve the problem/deficiency. Performs review of all required documentation for submission of packets to the National Guard Bureau (NGB) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely submission. Provides guidance and instruction to federal recognition board members and subordinate commands regarding dates and times of board, changes to board procedures and regulatory updates. Maintains and manages trackers to ensure all levels of review on all federal recognition packet submissions have been completed and meet eligibility criteria and to track trends and common packet submission errors. Maintains liaison with subordinate commands and NGB on matters relating to all aspects of the federal recognition process.

  • Responsible for ensuring Federal Recognition Board results are reported in the appropriate data systems. Assists in processing officer accessions for direct appointments. Assists in reviewing and preparing all required promotion or retention board packet documentation (i.e., military education/training, evaluations, record briefs, etc.) prior to board convene date for Enlisted Promotion Systems Boards (E5 through E9) and Officer/Warrant Officer and Enlisted Annual Retention Boards. Conducts research as necessary for applicable board in the Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management Systems (iPERMS), the Army Training Requirement and Resources System (ATRRS), Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A), G1 Portal, and other relative systems.

  • Performs a variety of tasks related to general office management and the operation of the various boards. Provides input and recommendations for the efficient management and operation of all boards conducted within the Boards Branch. Provides recommendations on policy and regulatory changes to Branch Chief and/or Deputy. Scans Soldier documents into iPERMS and AX (state archives) utilizing Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and personally identifiable information (PII) standards and practices. Assists in maintaining/updating Boards Branch Share Point page. Assists in preparing promotion certificates for federally recognized Soldiers.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
