Program Summary : Residential Supportive Living Services supports people with barriers to independent living by providing safe and therapeutic home environments that encourage independence and provide person centered services and supports. RSLS has 9 facilities and 50 residents with various needs. Staff in these programs provide support and independent skills training to clients in the homes.

Position Summary : The Training Specialist is responsible to coordinate all required staff training to ensure compliance in DHS and Catholic Charities training requirements. The Training Specialist will maintain systems and processes to assure all staff are effectively trained for their positions.

  1. Lead and manage all training operations for Supportive Living Services group homes

  2. Client Care

  3. Fiscal Management

  4. Home and Vehicle Maintenance

  5. Program Management Tasks (non-routine tasks)

  6. Other duties as assigned

Other responsibilities:

Training Supervisor will take over temporary supervision of staff in the programs when their supervisor is absent for whatever reason (on leave, vacation, resignation). In the first 12 months in this position, the Training Supervisor will receive training on supervision.

  1. The Training Supervisor will “fill in” for the Residential Supervisors when they are absent from the workplace.

  2. Respond to VA reports/incidents, medication errors, incident reporting, emergency reporting, accident incidents, staff injuries as required by RSLS policies and procedures, DHS requirements, and all other regulations.

  3. Identify and participate in a minimum of six opportunities to seek professional development.

  4. Participate in activities of quality assurance for rule compliances as identified by Staffing Coordinator.

  5. Participate in on-call supervisor rotation and coverage of direct care as identified by Staffing Coordinator.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Job Related Experience: Two (2) years working in a group residential setting required. Bi-lingual or multi-lingual preferred.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Valid driver’s license required. Ability to successfully pass a Catholic Charities driver’s check.
