Akima Building Automation Technician Manager in Saint Louis, Missouri

Overview

The Building Automation Technician (BAT) Manager is a full-time, on-site position during normal duty hours and "on- call" to support automation systems with server administration, mechanical control support, trending, system,programming, and other troubleshooting after normal duty hours. The BAT shall have at least 10 years of building automation service experience and must provide details regarding their experience in network administration, DNS server maintenance, FLN troubleshooting, and commissioning. Candidates must be capable of programming changes and implementing new system functionality and capable of programming the system(s) to enable the proper monitoring and functionality of installed equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Determines the most effective means to use capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, people, and other assets to make a product or service.

  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

  • Coordinates all available knowledge and information into finished scale drawing, showing most efficient location of personnel, equipment, and necessary working areas.

  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

  • May develop management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.

  • Performs work independently.

  • Considered a high-level specialist who regularly interacts and works with senior management.

  • Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work.

  • Typically requires BA and 10-12 years.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must have completed technical training or an associate's degree in a technical / engineering-related discipline

  • Minimum of 10 years’ building automation service experience.

  • Must be able to be on call to respond

  • Possess a valid state driver’s license and a good driving record

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Ability to understand and have working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings.

  • General knowledge of all maintenance and construction trades.

  • Possess or able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information.
