Summary
Spire is seeking a Security Specialist to work in the Missouri operation. This position will be responsible for maintaining specialized security systems and aiding in the development and implementation of successful security strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities
Manage contract security guards at facilities who patrol, respond to emergencies, and other planned and unplanned events, as well as security operations center functions, plans and policies.
Conduct investigations.
Ability to lead the field worker safety and security program and security committee/task force meetings.
Work with Director of Security and others across the organization to develop security standards, policies and practices and training to make continual improvements and increase the effectiveness of the security program.
Assist in the development tactical plans for the protection of personnel and facilities consistent with corporate initiatives and deployed within the region’s budgets and priorities.
Manage the access control system and partner with business units to identify safety and security deficiencies and develop customized policies and procedures to gain compliance with regulations internal and external to Spire.
Conduct annual facility inspections and assessments and formulate security strategies consistent with company and industry standards.
Maintain budget and project plans accordingly.
Complete weekly, quarterly, and yearly reports and audits of incidents and identify and report on trends both internally and crime within the communities we serve.
Liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the region and assist with investigations and testimony as needed.
All other duties as assigned to include executive protection and security details.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Yes, Will supervise external contractors and contracted security officers.
Required Education (certifications, licenses)
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Certification with the Corporate Security Advisor program with Peace Officers Standards and Training from Missouri Department of Public Safety, preferred.
Valid driver’s license, required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, preferred.
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
10+ years of experience in law enforcement, required.
Strong investigative background and experience, required.
Experience with standard software applications for communications, productivity, and presentations.
Experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, GPS, and Incident Management Systems.
Ability to conduct investigations with strong written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills.
Requires collaboration with other business units within the company and monitoring security vendor performance and leads physical security programs for locations throughout Spire operations in Missouri.
Conducts investigations of physical breaches, criminal activity at facilities, and assists Human Resources, Safety and Facilities Management with internal investigations and any investigation involving the safety and security of employees.
Develops security strategies for employee safety and security in an everchanging environment.
Physical demands, environment and schedule
Primarily normal office conditions with visits to facilities and construction sites or unfinished office space, as needed.
Hours vary by business need; on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond as necessary to all security needs.
Ability to perform physical activity in high stress situations.
Extended hours and travel may be required.
