    About the Job

    The Project Manager supplies support for capital spending, major outages, and minor maintenance projects in that area. They work closely with the Finance Department to study the feasibility of spending capital on projects, navigate and expedite projects through the capital approval project, and help the areas plan and justify their capital spending.

  • Supervise and lead the capital spending processes in the assigned area

  • Project Implementation

  • Oversee and Manage engineering resources to ensure project success.

  • Define scopes of work and provide estimates of construction and engineering costs for projects.

  • Develop bid packages for assigned projects; solicit bids, issue requisitions for materials or contractors.

  • Maintain compliance with all State and Federal Environmental Laws and Regulations in design of repairs to equipment or installation of new systems.

  • Project Justification

  • Quickly perform preliminary feasibility studies.

  • Perform ROI calculations with minimal input from finance.

  • Expediently give feedback to shareholders on project costs and project benefit.

  • Project Execution and Close

  • Assist with Kiln Shutdowns

  • Develop capability within operators - Provide technical expertise and training for operations.

  • Identify and address gaps in manufacturing personnel capabilities.

    Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.

  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in project management is required.

  • Certifications: Certification from Project Management Institute is preferred.

  • Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate with all functional groups and through all levels of MLC. Ability to utilize project management and other engineering tools to optimize project execution. Ability to respond decisively to emergencies, as well as exercise sound judgment in problem solving.
