Description

Are you a Controls Field Service professional ready to take your career to the next level? Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in the USA, this position will be responsible for the field services of Copeland Supermarket controls products, services, and commissioning of new installation, retrofit, and existing sites. The position requires customer visits for installation, programming, start-up, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting of products and services offered by Copeland. Fieldwork will be required with extensive overnight travel, typically 75-80%.

As a Field Services Specialist, You Will:

Technical

  • Perform work-related tasks according to company guidelines.

  • Provide standard scheduled and emergency service.

  • Provide onsite startup of the supermarket controls products and services.

  • Perform site surveys and audits

  • Provide onsite terminations of low voltage and networks,

  • Perform controller programming, commissioning and plant optimization.

  • Review store prints and specifications to ensure accurate programming and operation

  • Interact with contractors for validation and training

  • Maintain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers.

Safety

  • Stay up to date on safety bulletins and safety field change notices.

  • Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines.

  • Must wear appropriate PPE as per guidelines and in line with job duties.

  • Report all work-related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel.

  • Participate in Safety Audits with your Supervisor/Manager.

  • Perform Environmental and Health (EHS) surveys on every site visit.

Administration

  • Complete paperwork such as Service Work Requests, timesheets, expense reports, and Field Service Reports in a timely manner.

  • Connect with Technical Support on equipment issues.

  • Document and advise Field Services Management.

  • Customer telephone and e-mail technical support.

  • Write N-Cx and E-Cx reports.

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting according to company guidelines.

  • Provide estimated time of arrival to the Customer where applicable.

  • Maintain company property according to company policies.

  • PPE, test equipment, laptop, truck stock, cell phone, etc.

  • Assist with scheduling your time.

  • Assist in finalizing and formatting customer reports.

Customer Happiness

  • Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers.

  • Complete documentation accurately and provide completion of each designated assignment.

  • Strive to provide all customers a “first-time fix” for their equipment.

  • Maintain customer happiness rates.

  • Attend Customer Meetings as the need arises.

Performance

  • Improve efficiency by combining service opportunities.

  • Complete all work in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Capable of making technical and commercial decisions under pressure.

  • Properly evaluate the site and equipment for appropriate action.

  • Maintain productive utilization rate according to company guidelines.

  • Perform inventory counts and reconciliation.

  • Implement company dress code and safety regulations.

  • Meet or exceed on-site response time requirements for each customer.

  • Understand and align with company startup/blocking issue processes and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and adequate levels of internal communications.

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Associate’s (AA) degree in HVAC/REF or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Digital literacy includes word processing, spreadsheets, database, Internet software, E-mail, and Windows 10/11.

  • Certified in the use and handling of refrigerants.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, we are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and the risk of electrical shock. We are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.

Benefits:

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary/pay range for this role is $60,000 - $83,000 annually commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
