Position Status: Full-time or Part-Time | Monday - Friday
Salary: Provider compensation at NWHS works on a salary basis. The base salary for a psychiatrist - ranges from $246,792 to $308,464, and up to $370,136. Salary is DOE.
YOUR ROLE: Diagnose and treat patients of the Primary Care department for psychiatric conditions. Monitor medications for an ethnically diverse patient population with medical and behavioral health problems. Provide brief intervention strategies and develop treatment plans for patients. Collaborate and consult with medical providers, mental health staff, and other partners to ensure effective treatment for patients with behavioral health disorders. Clinical supervision of medication activities of the clinic nursing staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Provides psychiatric care to a panel of patients received via internal referral from the primary care department. Assists primary care providers in diagnosing and treating behavioral health and psychological issues, through diagnostic consultation, evaluation, and treatment.
Conducts Psychiatric Evaluations and defines and coordinates the most effective out-patient treatment plan for the client, including cadence of appointments and referrals for supportive services to effectively support the client’s stabilization.
Prescribe, follow-up, and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of prescribed psychotropic medications with select patients until they are stable and can be referred back to primary care for ongoing management.
Maintain appropriate medical records documentation on all patients in accordance with organizational policy and agency initiatives including Meaningful Use and Patient Centered Medical Home. Consistently up to date on charting. Meets expectations of above 90% on weekly documentation report and maintains PAQ at less than 75 items at any given period.
Actively contributes to care team by providing coverage to absent providers, being available to support staff, and serving on improvement teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Psychiatrist possessing unrestricted license for practice in the state of Oregon.
Three year's work experience and specialized training in the mental health field.
Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and treatment for mental health conditions.
Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions and develop appropriate management/treatment plans.
Able to work effectively as a team, interfacing with patients, primary care providers, mental health staff, as well as administrative and support staff.
No evidence of immoral or unethical behavior. Agree to produce "clean" criminal records check.
Experience working with culturally and socio-economically diverse populations.
Experience collaborating with medical and mental health providers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible, organized, and able to be self-directed and committed to the values and mission of the agency.
Demonstrate and awareness of, and value for, cultural competency and customer service in the delivery of care.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software programs.
