Quality Management Assistant (Quality Control and Privacy Support Focus)

Location: West Salem Clinic | 1233 Edgewater St. NW, Salem OR 97301

Job Status: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Northwest Human Services is hiring a highly motivated individual to provide a wide range of administrative and reporting support to the Quality Management department.

YOUR ROLE:

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our healthcare services maintain the highest standards. Your work will also extend to various projects aimed at improving the overall quality of care we provide. A significant part of your job will be conducting detailed reviews of medical records and inspections to ensure our practices comply with the Joint Commission standards, an organization dedicated to ensuring healthcare providers offer safe and effective care. SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Manage Incident and Complaint Reports : You'll handle the process from start to finish, including receiving and directing reports, tracking them, and offering support and guidance to our team during the reporting process.

  • Support with Critical Incident Reviews : Work closely with the Quality Management (QM) Director to organize the Critical Incident Review Committee's (CIRC) activities. This includes gathering cases, preparing meeting agendas, and documenting the committee’s findings. You'll also manage the reporting of external critical incidents to Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO) following their policies.

  • Policy and Form Preparation: Prepare policies and forms for review every year or two. This involves editing documents as needed, managing their approval process, and making sure they're accessible on our internal platforms.

  • Conduct Privacy Observations and Reporting : Play an active role in supporting HIPAA adherence by gathering and organizing data, maintaining records, and helping create clear and comprehensive reports. You'll work closely with the Privacy and Security Officers, identifying trends and ensuring our compliance efforts are effective, accurate, and well-documented.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration/Management, Nursing, or equivalent experience

  • High proficiency with computers and MS Office (specifically MS Excel, Word, and Power Point)

  • One year of work experience or equivalent training in auditing techniques in a healthcare environment is preferred.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through to task completion.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and diplomacy.
