Advanced Machinist (OEM AutoLathe)

Position Summary :

Join our dynamic team as an Advanced Machinist, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring our production runs smoothly and efficiently. If you’re an experienced machinist, have a knack for precision, and a passion for problem-solving, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. You'll be responsible for performing machine changeovers and adjustments with accuracy and speed, ensuring our operations maintain the highest quality standards.

Shift Hours : 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with opportunities for overtime.

What You’ll Do :

Master of Machines : Set up and operate a variety of machines including lathes, cutters, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, and CNC machines.

Precision Alignment : Position and align controls or mount gears, cams, or templates to set cutting speeds, depths, feed rates, and angles with precision.

Quality Assurance : Step machines through cycles to ensure specified timing, clearance, and tolerances, and observe operations to inspect first-run workpieces.

Tooling Expertise : Position and align cutting tools into holders, and select and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices.

Troubleshooting Pro : Troubleshoot machine and setup issues swiftly and efficiently.

Programming Skills : Make edits and adjustments in the machine program as needed.

Blueprint Savvy : Study blueprints, layouts, or charts to visualize work sequences, dimensions, and tooling instructions.

Mentor and Trainer : Train and assist colleagues, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.

Continuous Improvement : Actively participate in continuous improvement, kaizen, quality, and cycle time reduction initiatives.

Policy Adherence : Perform all responsibilities in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.

Versatility : Take on additional duties as assigned to support our team’s success.

What You Bring :

  • Educational Foundation: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in machine setting is preferred.

  • Technical Know-How: Capable of performing machine changeovers and adjustments with precision and efficiency on all machines.

  • Lubrication Knowledge: Understanding of coolant and cutting oils.

  • Tech Savvy: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.

  • Coding Skills: Familiarity with Fanuc G & M codes is a plus.

  • CNC Expertise: Hands-on experience with CNC machines.
