Position: Social Studies Teacher - Salida High School

Duties: * Teaches secondary Social Studies classes * Leads an advisory group of students in SEL and other activities * Ability to work with and create a positive rapport with students and the general public * Demonstrate successful teaching experience with high school students as well as a personal commitment to constant improvement as a teacher. * A commitment to continuing enhancement of the learning experience * A commitment to work within the philosophy, standards, curriculum, scope, and sequence of the Social Studies department. * Perform other duties as appropriate in support of the high school program. * Teacher is expected to participate in district development of curriculum and instruction.

Requirements: * Must be at least 21 years of age; * Must be able to pass background and drug screening. * Selected applicant must verify experience, hold a valid Colorado Department of Education of teaching certificate, or qualify for an Alternative License.

Other Requirements: * Successful teaching experience. * Experience using technology to support instruction. * Preference will be given to candidates with multiple endorsements. * Be familiar with state Reading, Writing, and Communicating standards. * Be able to work effectively and create a positive rapport with students, staff, administration, parents and community members.

Wages: Pay is $42,500.00 annually; paid monthly. Salary is based on a 156 day work calendar, scheduled with supervisor.

Job Location: Salida, Colorado

Shift: This is a full-time position; 32 hours per week. Will work Monday through Thursday, hours to be set by employer. Employer has one position to begin September 2nd, 2024. Closing date of application open until filled.
