Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Work directly with Institutional and Prime Brokerage clients and external brokers to settle client trades and resolve any trade-related issues. Perform essential functions for the team, including risk management, automation, model preparation, and trade assessment. Be responsible for a book of clients to develop client relationships and provide first class service across the trade life cycle. Leverage investigative skills to provide answers to client queries and solutions for issues that arise, and to assess the validity of complex information entered in the risk systems. Partner with Engineering on change-the-bank initiatives to enhance the client experience or mitigate risk. Investigate exceptions in internal books and records to identify resolution, and escalate issues as they arise to ensure accuracy. Analyze and improve processes and procedures to reduce risk and eliminate repetitive effort. Help influence client behavior to achieve superior operational and client service outcomes.

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must include three (3) years of experience with: applying equities industry and market knowledge including trade flows between broker dealers, clients, and exchanges; using standard Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to track volumes, workflow, and projects, utilizing pivot tables to manage large datasets, and working with V-look ups and IF statements to minimize manual processes and efficiently manage risk; accurately completing trade processing in support of a bank's equity businesses; performing client-facing roles in a business-aligned environment; preparing for upcoming exchange and industry regulatory and infrastructure changes; applying risk management skills to identify and resolve trade booking errors and technology issues pertaining to trade bookings and subsequent front-to-back flows; and ensuring that escalation channels are correctly followed, and market risk is understood by sales and trading desks. Must include two (2) years of experience with: identifying opportunities to improve the quality of service delivered to clients and to improve the internal efficiency of the confirmation and settlement process and other Straight Through Processes (STP) initiatives.
