Job Summary

The Business Data Analyst is part of the department Finance and Analytics Team reporting directly to the Business Intelligence Manager. The Data and Analytics Team is responsible for supporting financial, clinical, education, and research operations across the department. This position will work closely with stakeholders to support their data needs for various projects and programs. It is essential that this position is able to support the entirety of the analytical process, from asking questions to understand the requirements, developing and validating data, to presenting the final findings upon completion. This role requires possessing and developing the strong technical skills required to develop, review, validate, and analyze the data stakeholders need.

Candidates for this position should have excellent team work skills, a commitment to customer service, demonstrate strong internal motivation, willingness to learn, and possess excellent technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing reports and ensure that they continue running promptly and accurately.

  • Create automations for existing reports and processes using Python.

  • Support senior BI Manager in identifying new opportunities and conducting analysis.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and project goals.

  • Conduct thorough data analysis to deliver meaningful information and recommendations.

  • Develop, review, validate, and interpret complex datasets.

  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to track key metrics and support decision-making.

  • Create and document data workflows, processes, and methodologies.

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.

  • Communicate findings and present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Utilize various tools and software (e.g., SQL , Excel, Tableau, Python) to perform data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Two to four years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Preferences

Strong preference will be given to candidates who have skills and experience with: SQL , Excel, Tableau, Python.
