OKLAND CONSTRUCTION CDL Driver / Heavy Equipment Mechanic in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
CDL DRIVER / EQUIPMENT ASSOCIATE
POSITION SUMMARY Supports field operations by preparing, delivering, retrieving, cleaning, testing, and storing Okland-owned equipment. Performs maintenance or minor mechanic functions to keep equipment in good repair. Help keep the equipment storage yard and warehouse clean and organized.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Loads and unloads trucks. * Delivers equipment and materials to job sites. * Maintains delivery vehicles to Okland's professional standards. * Inspects, operates, and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunction. * Ensures warehouse is clean, organized, and safe for other employees. * Records materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program. * Weighs, counts, and/or sorts items for distribution. * Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position. * Comply with DOT log and record regulations * Actively participate in monthly safety meetings and work to promote a safe workplace. * Track work time to ensure proper billing. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred but not required. * 5+ years of verifiable CDL driving flatbed experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS * Must maintain a valid state Class A commercial driver license with air brake endorsement. * Must maintain a current DOT medical card. * Forklift certification is preferred (will be trained after hire). * Aerial lift certification is preferred (will be trained after hire). * 10-hour OSHA class completion is (will be trained after hire).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS * Ability to work varied shifts or extended hours, as required. * Ability to make decisions and problem solve. * Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. * Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices commonly used in construction and maintenance. * Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
