FIRST STEP HOUSE Clinical Therapist - Valor in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

We are hiring a full-time Clinical Therapist (Social Work) in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a fantastic sign-on Bonus and Relocation Package!

The Therapist provides a full spectrum of clinical services within the scope of his/ her/their licensure. These services range from mental-health therapy to case management. The Therapist is responsible for providing the highest possible care to every client served. This role can be complex as therapists must navigate between varying interests. For example, while client advocacy and rapport must be priorities, consideration must be given to the interests of funders, legal entities, and other stake holders. This role requires strong collaborative skills, as therapists work with various teams, including treatment teams and legal entities. The Therapist assists the Program Manager and Director of SUD Treatment Services in other administrative tasks and works in concert with the priorities of the Senior Management Team, the Executive Director, and the Board of Directors. Strong interpersonal boundaries and a clear understanding of ethical responsibilities are a necessity for this position. The overall goals of this position are to (a) provide high-quality care for clients, (b) provide a high level of customer service for funders, clients, and other stake holders, and (c) provide support for the clinical and administrative teams.

Are you tired of working 40 hours per week? Join our team and enjoy a standardized 36-hour work week with no change in pay! The schedule is flexible depending on the facility. An example schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9-hour days.

  • Pay Ranges from $ 67,000 - 80,000 per year
  • Relocation package and sign-on bonus
  • Licensure requirements: MSW, CSW, ACMHC, LMFT, CMHC, or LCSW

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for understanding and demonstrating outward mindset in work duties and interactions.
  • Performs initial and ongoing treatment planning in collaboration with the client and the treatment team.
  • Liaises with Valor House and VA teams to coordinate the greatest degree of care possible for Veteran clients and residents.
  • Works in collaboration with Valor House case managers to ensure additional entitlements and services are procured for Veteran clients.
  • Utilizes the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5 TR to render diagnoses, when appropriate.
  • Facilitates addiction-related psychotherapy groups.
  • Teaches life-skills classes.
  • Performs regular individual-therapy sessions for clients with substance-use disorders and comorbid mental health issues.
  • At a minimum, is competent in providing substance-abuse treatment, group therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Knows program rules, client rules, client rights.
