Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) seeks to attract an academically diverse full time Coordinator 1, Clinical Nursing Division of the highest caliber. Coordination & Scheduling:

- - Assist with managing the clinical schedule totaling between 4,000 and 5,000 student clinical placements which requires fitting multiple clinical and lab days into the students' course schedule. Utilize a variety of different programs to assist in this process. - Learn and utilize a variety of different computer applications to assist in this process. - Assist the Clinical Coordinator with the rescheduling of clinicals as needed for 500+ students during Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. - Supervise students in the site-specific compliance process, including becoming familiar with clinical partner requirements and monitoring student progress to ensure students are compliant before the semester begins.

 

Compliance & Tracking:

  • Monitor students' compliance with immunizations, CPR, background checks, drug screens, and facility-specific requirements.
  • Monitor compliance for faculty in personnel management software, follow up when renewals are needed and coordinate with the division secretary for the management of faculty and student files.
  • Track missed clinical/labs by students and work with the lab coordinator and facilities to arrange for the student to make-up the missed time.
  • Responsible for any audits requested by the partner facilities.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Assist with the management of the inventory as needed.
  • Serve as back up receptionist and support the receptionist office as needed. Duties include clerical work, receiving and directing students. Assist with written and oral communications with students.
  • Respond to emails, texts, and phone calls from students, faculty, and hospital facilities within 24 business hours.
  • Attend department administrative meetings as required.

Student Management: Collaborate with Admissions team to receive the roster for the incoming first semester students each semester. Monitor the progress of students throughout their tenure in the program, adjusting the roster for course failures and program dismissals.

Monitor the students that are on Leave of Absence (LOA) and coordinate the return to program process.

Coordinate the Registered Nurse Apprenticeship (RNA) application process including follow up with program leadership to ensure the student has met all necessary criteria. Incumbent must stay up to date on RNA and DOPL requirements and processes.

Participate in the new student orientation process and pinning ceremony as needed. Assist Program Coordinator with the management of students as direct ed.
