ASM Global Facility Maintenance Technician in Salt Lake City, Utah

POSITION: Facility Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Facility Maintenance Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Facility Maintenance Technician for Salt Palace Convention Center. Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance functions with primary focus on painting and door hardware repair. Responsibility for maintenance and general engineering duties may be included.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Professional patching and painting of drywalls and concrete throughout the facility.

  • Repair door locks and hardware on all the facility doors.

  • Maintains and repairs furniture, building fixtures, walls, and ceilings

  • Construction and repair work throughout the Salt Palace Convention Center and Mountain America Expo Center

  • Assisting with Plowing snow and salting during the winter season.

  • Operate equipment, such as, light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, access lifts, or other light power-driven equipment.

  • Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements.

  • Repair various equipment, carts, and other items. To ensure daily operation and safety for employees and patrons.

  • Follow the preventive maintenance program

  • Attend safety training and department meetings

  • Basic electrical skill a plus.

  • Work independently, and as a team exercising judgement and initiative.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Computer Skills are a plus

  • Must be able to work flexible hours. Some overtime needed. On call 24hr

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience as a painter and wall repair

  • Locksmith and door repair experience.

  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds.

  • Valid driver’s license a must

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Forklift license a plus.

  • Welding experience needed

  • Position requires heavy lifting, climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling and equipment operation. This position requires work both indoors and out and is subject to adverse conditions.

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic

Job Type: Full-time, In-Office

Wage: $20-25/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Weekend Availability required, 24 hour on call availability required

Subject to sustained periods of time with exposure to the elements with adverse conditions. May require tools and equipment operation that could cause personal harm and/or injury if improperly handled. Requires irregular and/or extended hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, determined by event schedule and/or department needs. Requires radio usage, two-way handheld.
