SummaryOversees activities related to the purchase of material, material control, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems. Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. Reviews and plans requirements for purchasing materials. May prepare material requirement plans using enterprise resource planning systems. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. May manage supply/demand and material reconciliation issues. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function Job Description OTHER SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varex's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization.  May have responsibility to manage 3rd Party Logistics partners and global parts banks, including budgetary responsibility for global parts banks.  Establishes overall production schedules in conjunction with Marketing/Sales, and procures, receives and processes all material, including interdivision to assure schedule integrity.  Interfaces with division controller on all materials related items such as billing penalties, discounts, inventory levels, refunds, cost accounting, and obsolete materials. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge * Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people. * Effective interpersonal skills. * Experience with materials finance, particularly standard product costing and inventory modeling * Knowledge and experience with Supplier contracting and negotiations * Knowledge and experience with Lean Mfg, DFT, JIT or similar principles required for positions in a manufacturing environment

Experience Level with Business Tools * Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Typical Education and Experience * Bachelors Degree or equivalent * 5 years of related experience. * One year of management experience or supervisory equivalent

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. * Medium work that will occasionally require employee to lift/move up to 50 lbs. * Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies frequently. * Reaching above and below the shoulder occasionally. * Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools occasionally. * Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities. * Travel to sites. Valid driver's license.
